直訳すると「私のお客さんになってください」となりますが、これが「どうぞご自由に、いいですよ」と、許可を与える言い回しとなります。分かりやすい会話例を見てみましょう。

A: Can I use your toilet, please?
B: Be my guest.

A: トイレを使ってもいいですか？
B: ご自由にどうぞ。

この表現がお店で使われると、「ここは私がおごりますから」なんて意味にもなったりします。
